In his book Transparent, Don announced that he is gay and talked about homophobia, colorism, and the sexual abuse he suffered when he was still young. In an interview, Don Lemon revealed that he was sexually abused when he was young and waited nearly thirty years before telling his mother about it. In 1976, when Don was ten, his mother married Don's stepfather. Don's mother is Katherine Clark, and he has two sisters named Leisa Lemon and Yma Lemon. Don attended Baker High School in East Baton Rouge Parish.
